You woke up with a sudden acne breakout on your face. "Ahhh.....Gosh, what should I do? What causes acne breakouts?" You try piling with concealer and powder, hoping that it won't look so obvious for the day.
Causes of acne breakout can be of various reasons. Hormonal changes, stress, unsuitable products, medication and heredity issues can cause a sudden acne breakout.
The most common one would be hormonal changes in our bodies. Teenagers experiencing purberty changes and pregnant ladies will have higher tendencies to get a breakout. Even the 2 to 7 days before menstruation starts may also cause acne to breakout.
Likewise, certain medication can also trigger an acne outbreak or even aggravate your acne problem further.
Stress and acne can also be related. When a person is undergoing tremendous stress, it can trigger the adrenal gland to produce more hormones, it also induces the adrenal cortex to create a steroid called cortisol and this will increase the sebum production. Pyschologically, when stress level is on the high side, most people are not able to achieve the optimum result in their immune sebum and indirectly, if there is an acne breakout, the healing process will be slower too.
You might also wonder why you still get breakout even if you have been applying face cream and putting on night mask. Certain products might just be too rich for skin and some products might work in a way by purging out your acne for the first 2 weeks before you start seeing clear skin.
So in order to stop acne breakouts, it is best that you start from within by eating healthily and have ample of rest. Of course, not forgetting to maintain good beauty routine with the right products! Another thing to take note, never start squeezing on your acne. :)
